32Bj Apartment Building Agreement 2018

Last Friday, the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations (RAB) announced that it had entered into a four-year interim employment contract with SEIU Local 32BJ, the union that represents construction industry employees in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. The agreement – reached 13 days before the deadline – includes more than 23,000 operators, developers, lobbyists and a few security experts in more than 1200 commercial properties. The deal will raise the average wages of more than 30,000 employees in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island to $55,000 and make them, according to rab, the highest-paid workers in the country.
